Subterranean garden room and artists studio in Devon, incorporating a green roof and timber cladding.

The client for this project required extra studio space to be able to continue a live work lifestyle. The decision was taken to build a 2 roomed garden room within the grounds of the main property, predominantly below ground and sunken into a grassy bank.

The materials and finishes used were designed to blend into the natural surrounding environment. Vertical larch boarding was used for the walls with a curved green roof using sedum and wildgrass above. A sheltered veranda space is created leading to a wider area of timber decking

The Garden studios have now completed.
